In 1 Peter, Chapter 5, St. Peter gives the Christian community good advice that comes in the form of a warning. He says, "Stay sober and alert. Your opponent the devil is prowling like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, solid in your faith, realizing that the brotherhood of believers is undergoing the same sufferings throughout the world." Many do not resist the devil because they do not believe he exists.
